Esquinas Rainforest Lodge serves as a model in combining both ecotourism and nature conservation. The Lodge is a tropical secluded paradise for birdwatchers, nature lovers, naturalists and anyone who wants to have an unmatched rainforest experience. A fresh water jungle stream that flows through the exotic tropical garden and feeds the naturally-filtered swimming pool, attracts a great variety of wildlife, including colorful butterflies and many rare bird species. Esquinas Rainforest Lodge is surrounded by the Piedras Blancas National Park, one of the last unprotected lowland tropical rainforests on the South Pacific coast of Central America. Over 6000 acres of endangered forest, including the jungle surrounding the Lodge, were purchased with contributions the non-profit organization “Rainforest of the Austrians“ and donated to the Costa Rican government to become part of the Park.
